Windborne Singers will share their harmonies in a performance at Friday Night Folk, 19 Jay Street in New London on November 16 at 7:30 p.m. Lynn Mahoney Rowan, Will Thomas Rowan, Lauren Breunig, and Jeremy Carter-Gordon share a vibrant energy onstage – their connection to each other and to the music clearly evident. They are as comfortable with a Corsican couplet song as with an English ballad. They educate as they entertain, telling stories about the music and explaining the characteristic elements of different traditions. Windborne will present selections from Song on the Times, which considers peoples’ rights movements in the past 400 years, sung for today’s struggles. The group was catapulted to new heights when a clip of them singing in protest outside Trump Tower went viral, and their Indiegogo for the project raised 1,600 percent of its goal from 2,500 people in every state and 22 countries.
